A great way to generate quick, quality traffic is using articles (see goarticles.com, ezinearticles.com and get an account).

Another really cool way to generate traffic that will allow journalists and others (including search engines!) to get to your site is prweb.com,marketwire.com, etc.

The killer strategy that can add really good exposure and quality for your website is a service called Expert Click. It’s 895.00 for the year, and you might want to do some research before signing up.

The site is located here.

The question is that how much of this traffic is actually the targeted traffic that you really need.

I wish you could write a post about how to generate free targeted traffic for ecommerce sites. Not a whole a lot of people know much about ecommerce SEO other than basics, and also the fact that you have to pay alot of money for PPC and adwords.

By the way I am linking my blog (www.bkseo.com) to yours.

    Hi Al!

First of all, thanks for link - I checked it out.

Since ecommerce sites most often don’t contain lots of content (”thin content”), and are poorly optimized within its information architecture (navigation, directory, filenames, etc) - a good way to bring traffic to ecommerce sites is to push your product listings out to shopping sites via XML. Froogle can be a good place to start, and Google Base has brought massive traffic to some sites, I know.

Then, don’t forget about good ‘ol “off-page” factors. You cannot link to every product on a commerce site, but rather categories or segments within it, and backlinks will always bring you more traffic, and create a stronger presence online for you. I tested a site recently that had very thin content, and we created links for about 30 days, and traffic increased more 1600% ! Hope this helps. - Jon
